Murray Regional Tourism Funding Opportunities Update

Murray Regional Tourism today welcomed the Victorian Government’s announcement of a $143 million Circuit Breaker Support Package with hospitality, tourism, events and creative industries operators to benefit from grants.

The package is a comprehensive suite of financial support that recognises both regional Victoria and Greater Melbourne and will reach 50,000 businesses across the state who have suffered not just from the 5-day snap lockdown, but have struggled for the past 11 months in navigating the challenges of COVID-19 restrictions.

The Circuit Breaker Action Business Support Package includes:
– $92 million for a Business Costs Assistance Program (BCAP) that will offer $2000 grants to employing and non-employing businesses in the tourism, events, hospitality, food wholesaling and selected retail industries with a payroll of up to $3 million.
– $24.9 million under the Licensed Hospitality Venue Fund, with $3000 per premises payments made to previous recipients of the first round of funding.
– $16.2 million under the Victorian Accommodation Support Program for reimbursements for cancelled accommodation bookings, but this time, eligibility will cover both regional Victoria and Greater Melbourne.
– An expanded Regional Travel Voucher Scheme with an additional 10,000 vouchers to support travel in regional Victoria.
