Tourism Digital Expansion and Literacy Program

We have successfully received funding through Regional Development Victoria to commence the Digital Expansion and Literacy Program

The program has three key elements will which stimulate the reactivation of the visitor economy, inspire visitors to come to the Murray region.

River Cam Integration: Will see the establishment of web cameras being located at key locations along the Murray river from the Upper Murray to Mildura Wentworth, with live stream footage available via the Visit the Murray website.

Virtual Reality (VR) Experience: The VR experience will use the latest technology to create an immersive experience which will be situated at the Yarrawonga Mulwala Visitor Information Centre (VIC) with the ‘wow’ factor that enhances the visitor experience and encourages dispersal throughout the region. The aim is to create an experience that is talked about long after visitors have left the region.

Digital Literacy Program: The program will supercharge a shift in thinking by developing an action based mentoring program which will provide operators with the skills, knowledge and access to resources to reach their digital potential and prepare  for the future to continually adopt and embrace technology solutions which will ultimately sustain the businesses operations.

MRT are working in partnership with Tourism Managers and Local Government to roll out the Webcam Integration and to develop shot lists and locations for the production of the Virtual Reality footage.

We look forward to keeping you updated on this program.
