Murray River Cameras

The Murray Webcam Project is funded by Regional Development Victoria and in partnership with MRT and local government stakeholders with the aim to support the Murray tourism industry and contribute towards the reactivation of the visitor economy by dispelling myths about the river including weather, river heights, algae etc. and inspiring visitors to travel to the region. The river cam integration is part of the digital expansion and literacy program.

Objectives:

  • Profile the weather and river conditions at key destinations to address misconceptions about the river and reduce perceived barriers to visiting.
  • Increase awareness of key destinations via increased website traffic and click-throughs to
    destination and operator pages.
  • Promotion of webcam footage via destination and operator digital activities.
