Welcome to Our Tourism Data Hub

At Murray Regional Tourism, we are dedicated to providing robust and insightful data on tourism patterns, trends, and economic impact across our beautiful Murray region. Our Tourism Research Australia (TRA) reports offer detailed snapshots of domestic and international visitation, expenditure, and visitor behaviour across key Murray destinations.

Why Murray visitation data looks different right now

Tourism Research Australia (TRA) has introduced a new methodology for measuring domestic travel called the Domestic Tourism Statistics (DoTS). This has replaced the long-running National Visitor Survey. Because of this change, there is a break in data, which means Murray Region visitation results cannot be directly compared with previous years until at least March 2026.

During this time, Murray Regional Tourism will continue to provide insight and support. While comparative datasets are limited, operators, councils, and partners can still access localised visitation information to help with:

  • Event planning
  • Grant and funding applications
  • Business cases and investment proposals
  • Destination development and marketing activities

These insights can be provided through the Localis Dashboard, which offers regional mobility and visitation indicators designed to complement official TRA outputs.

If you need tailored visitation data for your project or organisation, please contact your local council or Murray Regional Tourism directly.
