Murray Regional Tourism (MRT) is excited the Murray region’s exceptional food, wine and local produce will feature in two upcoming episodes of Australia’s most loved food and cooking show, MasterChef Australia, on June 18 and June 20.

The program’s regular culinary kings, George Calombaris, Gary Mehigan and Matt Preston joined the show’s contestants and high profile UK chef, Heston Blumenthall in the Swan Hill and Mildura Wentworth regions to make gastronomic magic using local produce in the much anticipated “Heston Week.”

Airing on Channel TEN on Sunday, 18 June, the episode filmed in Swan Hill features the Pioneer Settlement, while the Mildura Wentworth episode that was filmed predominantly at Murray River Salt’s harvest site will air on Tuesday, 20 June.

MRT CEO, Mark Francis said the episodes showcase local produce in the region.

“We are so pleased to have been involved in the process of securing MasterChef to film two episodes in the Murray.

“The Murray is Australia’s food bowl, providing an abundance of wonderful and unique culinary experiences for visitors to the region, which along with Agri tourism has long been, and continues to be a focus for MRT.

Viewers tuning in will be exposed to the exotic tastes of the Murray and the spectacular scenery along the legendary river.
