Many tourism businesses are curious about the Tourism Awards but aren’t quite sure where to start.

Maybe you’ve thought about entering before, wondered if your business is ready, or assumed the process would take too much time? Or perhaps you’ve entered in the past and are looking for ways to strengthen your submission and improve your chances.

While the awards recognise excellence, the process itself can be just as valuable for your business. Preparing a submission gives you the chance to step back and look at what you’ve achieved, clearly tell your business story and think about where you want to go next.

The Tourism Awards Support Program is designed to help Murray region tourism businesses prepare strong and competitive submissions for either the Victorian or NSW Tourism Awards.

Delivered by Karen Oliver from KO Tourism, the program provides practical guidance, mentoring and feedback to help businesses confidently enter the awards.

The program begins with an online information session open to all tourism businesses across the Murray region. Businesses interested in receiving additional support can then apply for a limited mentoring opportunity.

Up to six businesses will be selected to participate in the mentoring program.

Why Enter the Tourism Awards?

Entering the tourism awards can deliver significant benefits for your business and the region.

Tourism award entrants often report improvements in:

  • Business planning and strategy
  • Team engagement and pride
  • Marketing and brand credibility
  • Industry recognition
  • Business performance

The Tourism Awards Support Program is designed to make the process clearer, more achievable and less time-consuming.
