Destination Inspiration Event Series is back!
Destination Inspiration is a joint program delivered by Murray Regional Tourism and Destination Riverina Murray funded by the NSW Government. It is designed to support tourism operators within both the Murray and Riverina regions, providing practical tools, inspiring stories and expert guidance to grow your business.
The program will run across two rounds in 2025 and 2026. Each round begins with an in-region event followed by a mentoring program that provides hands-on support to build the capacity and capabilities of tourism businesses towards the development of new visitor experiences.
Round 1 - Corowa
We hit the road this September and set up in Corowa with a full-day program of learning and connection.
Our speakers will share their journeys, products, challenges and learnings, giving operators new ideas and practical tools to apply in their own business.

The second round will continue in Mildura/Wentworth in February 2026 with more details to come. Hosting two events ensures operators across the Murray and Riverina regions have the opportunity to take part and contribute to a shared vision for growth.

Mentoring Program
Participants at the Destination Inspiration event series who want to advance their ideas will be invited to express their interest in participating in the one-on-one mentoring program, delivered once again by tourism mentor Karen Oliver.
The program will have spaces for up to ten participants and is designed to accelerate the product development process and progress ideas into new or enhanced experiences for visitors to the region.
What to expect
- An in-person site visit to understand your business and set clear goals
- Up to eight tailored one-on-one online mentoring sessions
- Group workshops that encourage peer learning and collaboration
- Practical tools and action plans to help you move from concept to launch
- Guidance to diversify your offer, explore new revenue streams and build confidence as an operator
With many years of experience working alongside regional tourism operators, Karen Oliver is known for her practical advice and supportive approach. She has led the mentoring stream of Destination Inspiration since its beginning, helping businesses across the Murray turn ideas into real outcomes.
Past mentees such as Sam Pincott (Holbrook Paddock Eggs) Peter McDonald (Murray Darling Scenic Flights) and Tom and Tegan Douglas (Outback Almonds) have strengthened their strategy, launched unique visitor experiences and grown their confidence as operators.
